Material
cleanroom wipes fabrics are made of synthetic materials, natural materials or a combination of both. It is important to choose the correct material for your wiper to ensure your cleanroom is compliant.
polyester
These can be single or double-knitted, or double or multi-layered. They can also be tubular or crimped. They are the best in terms of cleanliness and do a good job of absorbing solvents and resisting chemicals. However, they are not very durable and do not absorb water or heat well.
nylon
These materials are similar in construction to polyester but are more durable and heat resistant.
Polycellulose
As the name suggests, these wipers are made from a non-woven blend of polyester and cellulose. This makes them very absorbent and durable, but not very heat-resistant.
cotton
Cotton wipers are the best choice for high temperatures. They are also very durable and absorbent.
Foam
These wipers are made of open-cell polyurethane foam. They resist solvents and don't withstand high temperatures well, but they are highly absorbent and can carry large amounts of liquid.
composite material
These have an inner cellulose layer bonded to two polypropylene outer layers. They are very clean and highly absorbent.
