What is Microfiber of Nonwoven Cleaning Cloth?
In cleaning products, microfibers are a blend of polyester and polyamide (nylon). In higher quality clean textiles, fibers are split during the manufacturing process to create space in each fiber. If you were to look at the cross-section of a split microfiber, it would look like an asterisk. It's the split fibers that work with the space between them. They pick up and hold dust and dirt, and absorb liquids. Poor-quality microfiber cleaning products must not be split (nor will microfiber clothing or furniture, since you don't want them to be absorbent).
Are there different types of microfiber cloths? certainly! A microfiber is a cleaning tool, and like any task, cleaning is easier when you use the right tool. Whether you're scrubbing heavy-earth areas like a bathroom or kitchen, or dusting delicate keepsakes, there's a microfiber designed for the task.
Types of Microfiber Cloths for Cleaning
For one thing, a different type of microfiber isn't needed, but a chainsaw isn't necessary when you have an old-fashioned hand saw. Obviously, a chainsaw will help you get through that tree more efficiently, but a hand saw will do too.
Universal Microfiber Cloth
When you think of microfiber towels, multi-purpose and multi-surface cloths usually come to mind. As the name implies, they are suitable for all uses and are safe for any surface. They feature a traditional terry weave and enough surface area for dry dusting, wiping up spills, and general cleaning.
Lint-free microfiber cloth for glass
Microfiber glass cloth is a knitted microfiber product. They're designed to remove streaks and smudges from smooth, reflective surfaces like mirrors, windows, electronic screens, and even stainless steel. They are often used as drying cloths after the surface has been cleaned to give a new sheen.
